Food as Medicine
Dr. Emina is a firm believer in this statement and will encourage and guide you to explore and incorporate food as medicine. Foods have the ability to simultaneously strengthen or weaken health. For example, wheat and dairy can cause chronic ear infections in children while essential fatty acids can help reduce cholesterol and triglycerides.
Sometimes, what might be considered a healthy food in general, may not be healthy for you specifically. Food allergies and food sensitivities are not always easy to recognize and warrant testing via a blood sample as a sensitive measure to identify your individual ‘trouble foods’. Enzyme Linked Immuno Assay testing for both (IgG) delayed food sensitivities and (IgE) immediate food allergies can be done in office with a simple blood draw as the most clinically advanced testing method available. If you suffer from chronic gastrointestinal symptoms (bloating, diarrhea, constipation), yeast infections, obesity, thyroid dysfunction, hormonal imbalances, skin conditions, muscle pain or joint pain – you may want to consider food allergy testing.
